Clarisse Tobia is a vocalist, pianist, and composer currently based out of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. She began playing piano and composing music at age 3, while her formal training as a singer began when she was 12 years old. She is a versatile performer with skill sets in improvisation, classical music, and modern music. She graduated with a B.M. in Vocal Performance from Illinois Wesleyan University where she had the honor of learning with Dr. Sam Scifres (voice), Dr. David Vayo (music composition), and touring all 4 years with Collegiate Choir under the direction of Dr. Scott Ferguson.
After graduating, she developed a close working relationship with Fresco Opera Theatre in Madison, WI, as both a performer and a composer. Most notably, she composed “The Poe Requiem” (2016), a show with music set to the poetry of Edgar Allan Poe, and premiered by Fresco Opera Theatre. She also began performing for city events, and restaurants around the Sun Prairie area, along with starting her own private music studio to teach voice, piano, and composition students. These endeavors have only grown through the years as she continues to thrive with all of the above 10 years later.
For composing, she most recently released an improvisational piano album entitled “Night Music” (2023), meant to be a meditative and relaxing experience. She also recently expanded her teaching studio to become Radiance Music Studio, which offers a space for music professionals to teach and perform in the Sun Prairie area. She continues to look forward to all of the musical opportunities, that are currently “in queue” for the future.
